@timofeyIt turns out the entire global goose-meat market in 2024 is basically one country, and that country is China. They produced a staggering 5,287,500 tonnes, which leaves every other nation in the dust. The gap between first and second place is wild because China actually made more than 380 times the amount of goose meat as Taiwan, who came in at 13,769 tonnes. After that, the numbers drop off fast. Madagascar managed 12,730 tonnes, followed by Egypt with 8,499 tonnes. Myanmar sat at 7,900 tonnes while Ukraine contributed 4,700 tonnes. Türkiye brought in 3,600 tonnes and Germany added 3,200 tonnes to the mix. Israel hit 3,000 tonnes and Iran rounded out the next tier with 2,600 tonnes. Venezuela produced 1,900 tonnes and the United Kingdom had 1,700 tonnes. Canada was next with 996 tonnes before Argentina stepped up with 549 tonnes. South Africa finished their share at 516 tonnes and Thailand added 491 tonnes. The Philippines recorded 386 tonnes while Paraguay contributed 327 tonnes. Kazakhstan ended the list with 293 tonnes and Laos also reported 293 tonnes. These figures represent fresh or chilled goose meat from 29 countries, totaling roughly 5.36 million tonnes globally. China alone accounts for about 98.7% of that reported total. It is worth noting that reporting coverage might not be complete since these are just the national observations available for 2024. Goose farming does support rural livelihoods and food production in various parts of the world even if the distribution is this skewed. #FoodAndDrink
