Douglas Stewart Carter is 71, Black, and has been incarcerated for 41 years. A judge ordered his release after a Provo hearing. He was on death row for the 1985 killing of Eva Olison, a crime he didn't commit. Utah County prosecutors dropped the death penalty once DNA results came back and didn't include him.
