The Bugle Call: Song of War
Mozuku Sora, Higoro Toumori
Visão geral
In the year 1294 of the Arboral calendar, the world is dominated by nine colossal towers known as the Spires. These are remnants of a forgotten, advanced civilization, and their control is the subject of a brutal war between the Papal States and the Erin Empire, who hold the two largest Spires. In this conflict, sound itself has become a weapon. Soldiers wield enchanted instruments, transforming melodies and rhythms into devastating sonic assaults on the battlefield.
The narrative follows Luca, a young bugler in a mercenary company. He dreams of escaping the war and becoming a celebrated musician, a maestro. Luca possesses a rare and unique gift: he perceives sound as vibrant patterns of light and color. This ability marks him as one of the "Branch-hexed," individuals with extraordinary powers. After a devastating battle leaves him for dead, Luca is rescued by the enigmatic Pontiff. He discovers that his powers are not a ticket to escape the war, but rather a destiny that will make him a "muse of massacre." He also learns he is not alone, as the Pontiff has gathered a team of other Branch-hexed individuals to confront the warring empires.
Penned by Mozuku Sora and brought to life with illustrations by Higoro Toumori, The Bugle Call: Song of War began its serialization in Shueisha's Jump Square magazine on June 3, 2022. The series later transitioned to Jump SQ. Rise starting in July 2026. As of February 2026, thirteen volumes had been released in Japan. Viz Media is handling the English publication, with Volume 1 released on June 3, 2025. An anime television series adaptation from CA Soa and Shirogumi is planned for a 2027 premiere.
