Mistress Kanan Is Devilishly Easy

Kanan, an ancient demon lord known as the Gourmet Devil, descends upon Earth with a singular purpose: to devour human souls. She targets Youji Kyougi, a high school student she believes is an ordinary target, only to discover he is actually a hero sent to defeat her kind. Instead of drawing his sword or casting a spell, Youji proposes marriage on the spot. This unexpected turn forces the powerful demon into a life of domesticity, shifting the narrative from a dark fantasy conquest to a lighthearted romantic comedy.

The story thrives on the contrast between Kanan's terrifying reputation and her genuine softness when faced with sincere affection. Youji treats her not as a monster to be vanquished but as a partner to cherish, leaving the centuries-old demon flustered by simple gestures like cooking meals or holding hands. The title reflects this dynamic perfectly, highlighting how easily she can be won over by basic kindness despite her immense power.

Nonco launched the series in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine on June 22, 2022. The manga has grown steadily, reaching 11 volumes in Japan under the KC Deluxe imprint by early 2026. Seven Seas Entertainment brought the series to English-speaking audiences starting in October 2024, releasing five volumes by the same period. The franchise expanded into animation when Studio Kai produced the first season, which aired from April to June 2026, followed quickly by an announcement for a second season in June 2026. [editar]
