Visão geral
Launched in 2008 as Fellows!, this publication rebranded to Harta in February 2013 under the direction of Enterbrain. The name reflects the Indonesian word for treasure and signals a mission to curate distinctive artistic works rather than chasing mainstream trends. Editors release ten issues annually, typically spanning from February through August and October through December.
The magazine serves as a primary home for literary seinen series that prioritize narrative depth over commercial action. Notable serializations include Yuki Urushibara's Mushishi, which explores supernatural folklore, and Kaoru Mori's historical romance Otoyomegatari. Mitsuaki Kanno's The Great Passage also found its initial run here before adapting into multiple media formats including anime and live-action films.
In April 2023, the publisher introduced Harta Alternative as a digital spin-off to identify emerging talent. This move coincided with the tenth anniversary of the magazine's identity shift. Works serialized within these pages have secured prestigious accolades such as the Kodansha Manga Award and the Seiun Award for Mushishi, while Otoyomegatari won the Manga Taisho and received Eisner Award nominations.
