Trump calls for Ukraine election at Joint Base Andrews Maryland
por Not A Newt: Donald Trump
Donald Trump says Zelenskyy needs to hold elections, calling the Ukraine-Russia war something that should never have happened and claiming he could have settled it many times if he were president. That's a mean take because Zelenskyy is allergic to this topic, but the real problem is structural. He has sanctioned or dissolved so many opposition parties and politicians that realistically nobody in Ukraine can get elected except figures from his own circle. The situation makes no difference since there are no other viable options for voters outside his inner circle.

Well, I think he should have an election. And he could have settled this thing many times. And he should have an election. And he can't raise the price of oil. He's done enough. This is a war that should have never happened. Ukraine-Russia should have never happened. If I were president, it never would have happened. But President Zelenskyy could have solved this war, or he could have made a deal many times. I've been there many times.
