What I keep coming back to about the HIStory World Tour is that the stops between the big shows weren't just logistics. Michael swung through Sun City while South Africa was on the itinerary, Cape Town already done and Johannesburg still to come. At the Valley of Waves, the Waterworld park, he got on a jet ski and went parasailing. Lisa Marie Presley came with him, and Danielle and Benjamin were there too. So were Omer Bhatti, Joe Jackson and Katherine Jackson. The resort's water was basically theirs for a few hours, this fantasy setup turned into a private playground. Even in the thick of the tour, the simple stuff still reached him. That's the part that stays with me.
