The detective watched the students walking past when he suddenly noticed something strange. Whenever everyone moved at the exact same pace and their feet hit the ground at the same time, all those scattered footsteps merged perfectly into one. The eerie realization hit him like a bolt of lightning. He suddenly remembered what the third victim had said before her death. The mysterious killer in the alley had followed her without making a single sound. But logically, that made no sense. At night, when everything was quiet, even the slightest noise would carry much farther. If the killer had been walking normally, there was no way he could have moved in complete silence. Determined to solve the mystery, the detective returned to the scene. He turned to the alley that night with his senior partner to test the theory. They tried walking in every possible way, but no matter what they did, they couldn't move without making a sound. Just as they seemed to hit a dead end, a group of students practicing synchronized marching caught the detective's eye. In that instant, everything clicked. He had finally found the key to test his startling theory. The detective quietly began following a woman. He matched her pace with perfect precision, using the overlap of their footsteps to completely mask his presence. For a long time, the woman had no idea someone was right behind her. Then the detective suddenly stopped. The synchronized footsteps vanished at once. The woman immediately sensed something was wrong, and took off running in terror. There was no time to waste. The two detectives rushed to the area where the killer had struck repeatedly, hoping to uncover a clue that could crack the case. Before long, they spotted something that immediately seemed off. That guy's matching her pace a little too perfectly. Sensing something was wrong, the detective quickly moved in for a closer look. But he soon discovered. The two were nothing more than an ordinary couple. Disappointed, he was just about to turn and leave. When suddenly, a horrifying sight appeared right before his eyes. Thank you.
