James Corbett Bitcoin critique
James Corbett pushes back on the idea that anything other than Bitcoin is a PSYOP. He calls himself no Bitcoin maximalist, arguing the asset has been corrupted and co-opted over time. The shift toward compliance means signing tax forms and declaring everything legally, which feels like the exact opposite of crypto's original spirit. He still backs privacy-respecting digital cash but doubts Bitcoin fits that description anymore. Privacy coins exist but haven't made a dent in the global economy yet.

You have an interesting perspective here that like, potentially anything that's not Bitcoin is a part of the PSYOP. Is Bitcoin. No, no, no. Okay. No, I wouldn't say that. Because I am not a Bitcoin maxi. I definitely, I think Bitcoin has been corrupted and co-opted over the years and is heading more towards the compliance side of things. And sign your, cross your T's, dot your I's, make sure you fill out your tax forms, declare it all legally. Don't worry, it's all going to be above board, guys, which, of course, is to my mind the exact opposite of the spirit of what cryptocurrency was and could be. And so I am interested in privacy coins, you know, and they come and go and some of them foster some sort of community, but obviously not enough to make a dent in the world economy at this point. I still believe in the idea of a privacy respecting cryptocurrency. I'm just certainly not convinced that it is Bitcoin. If you're stacking sats, follow us because we're talking about Bitcoin all the time here, not just when the price goes up.
