Anthropic IPO risk factors compared
Anthropic's risk section in its IPO paperwork reportedly gives over a third of the space to humanity-ending scenarios. AI that manipulates or blackmails people made the list. Meanwhile the standard corporate warning is just that shoppers might change their habits. Which is a different category of fear entirely

Another thing that did happen is in the documents, they're required to talk about their risk factors. And apparently over a third of the prospectus is about warnings of catastrophic and existential risks to humanity. And advanced models that could manipulate, blackmail, and exhibit other unpredictable behaviors. That's got to be pretty rare for these kinds of docs. I can't imagine too many other companies having to say that. I was totally thinking that. I'm like, that's not the normal types of disclosures that you have. You know, it's usually things like, you know, our suppliers. Yeah, or a competitive threat. Yeah. But changing consumer behavior, not we all die.
