Bitcoin vs central bank money debate

    por Gigliola: Bitcoin

Bitcoin might not be the escape when central bank money goes fully digital. Transactions touching that system could get monitored by whoever controls it. Even if you move coins on the network, external actors can still restrict access to your funds. Spending Bitcoin doesn't guarantee utility if physical channels or other spending routes are blocked off. The whole idea of financial sovereignty against these systems looks shaky once the framework locks down.

the stuff that I've always talked about on the show. It's like, look, if the central bank money is tokenized and they have their own system, and then you got Bitcoin that's like parallel to that. If it's using that central bank money or interacting with it in any way, like I can see what you're doing as a central bank digital currency. And like, I can say, hey, you're not allowed anymore to participate in this side of the game. You can go ahead and do all that over there. But I can flag you and say, nope, you're out. And I don't think that's what they would necessarily do. I think what happens is you just have to recognize that your Bitcoin purchases will be tracked within this system. And then, yeah, if there's actually a need to shut you off, then I can shut you off. And you might be able to move your Bitcoin across the Bitcoin network, but if that's not where transactions are taking place, then it doesn't matter.
