Titanic grand staircase flooding scene

I love the fact that the sinking scene in Titanic seems surreal because it was real. James Cameron literally built a ship almost at full scale in Mexico and destroyed everything with real water in a giant tank. The grand staircase scene was filmed in a single take with 340,000 liters of water destroying the set on the spot. To make it worse (or better), Kate Winslet filmed without thermal underwear to have real reactions of panic and ended up with hypothermia. Today, all of this would be CGI because no insurance company would let a studio run that risk again. Titanic was practically the last gasp of this kind of physical cinema.
