looking at the aftermath of a project that was once hailed as the pinnacle of green energy transition back in 2008. germany constructed this massive solar power plant featuring moving panels designed to track sunlight and tuck away during dangerous weather, yet the entire operation has imploded financially. the Solarpark Erlasee held the title of the world's largest open-air photovoltaic facility at the time, but years later every single company that built those tracking systems filed for bankruptcy. without manufacturers still standing, the panels cannot be maintained and are frequently stuck in wrong positions because repairs require custom hand fabrication of spare parts which costs an arm and a leg. on top of that, government subsidies for energy production have expired so generating electricity is no longer profitable. the solar field itself has entered a state of bankruptcy now. it is a complete collapse where every entity involved in the project went under.
