Shehbaz Sharif UN speech on India clash
por Jolyon: Shehbaz Sharif
Islamabad is positioning the clash from a year ago as a warning. Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif took the UN stage to discuss the military confrontation with India that occurred previously. He described India's actions as an aggression started under false pretenses. Sharif argued that Pakistan's reaction was the exercise of self-defense rights guaranteed by Article 51 of the UN Charter. New Delhi has pushed back against Pakistan's version of events and the triggers for the conflict. During the address, Sharif spoke directly to Field Marshal Asim Munir about the result of the fighting. He quoted the armed forces saying they silenced the enemy, repulsed its attack, and taught it a lesson it shall never, ever forget. #ShehbazSharif #AsimMunir

President, a year ago, Pakistan faced external aggression from India under a false pretext. Pakistan exercised its inherent right of self-defense under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter. Our brave and valiant armed forces under the courageous leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir responded with Persian and professionalism. They silenced the enemy, repulsed its attack, and taught it a lesson it shall never ever forget.
