But in terms of like race and stuff, I think it should be taught in schools and like really taught in schools, not like 1865 is when that shit ended. And, you know, we're moving on. I mean, like getting the nitty gritty of like redlining and Jim Crow and segregation and really, I think not just teaching it in a way where it's like memorize these dates and facts of when these things passed. that is part of it but the deeper part of it is that our identities really for everyone especially black and white they were created in contrast to the other and another reason why i love james baldwin is because he talks about the history but more importantly he talks about how the history constructed who the fuck you are uh and that to me is the most instrumental part and you realize you know you didn't choose as much as you thought you choose like my body has been colonized you You know, like white folks, you have rhythm, you know, you were just taught out of it. And it's in there. It's not just something that like black folks have, you know what I'm saying? Like we all have that connection to, you know, divine musicality and rhythm and funk and fun and life, you know, and white folks are also victims of this construction of who we are. And that can be taught through history. And I think that's like a really cool angle to talk about it, too. And it creates way more interesting discussions too, you know, opposed to be like, you know, in 1962, that's when segregation and, you know, it's like, that's just good to know. But that's really talking like how it impacts your life today. It makes it instrumentally way more interesting to every single person because now you're connecting, now you're connecting how it impacts you, opposed to it just being the left. and if I had to make a change in this specific department that you're asking me about, I would like risks to be talked about in that way.
