cortisol and hippocampus damage from complaining
por Katrina Karan: Health
Constant complaining actively damages how your brain functions by locking you into a pattern where focusing on the negative keeps cortisol elevated for too long. when those stress hormone levels stay chronically high, the hippocampus shrinks in size and that is the exact region responsible for memory and problem-solving. venting out loud literally reduces your cognitive capacity because this negative focus rewires your brain to lower your capability instead of raising it. the result is a self-perpetuating loop that completely obscures the solutions you actually need to move forward.
