Jeff Teague Sixers skepticism
por Yutaofficial: Jeff Teague
Jeff Teague isn't riding the Philly train, saying it'll take too long for these guys to gel into a top-two seed. He's pegging them as a three or four seed until around Christmas time when they finally sync up. Minnesota might get that chemistry sooner, but Philly could still be the stronger playoff team once things slow down. The roster is stacked with isolation players like Tyrese Maxey, Jalen Brown, Joel Embiid, and LeBron James instead of Golden State's catch-and-shoot brand where everyone just moved the ball in that specific light.

Philly at five. All right. I think it's going to take too much time. Let's have a real conversation about Philly. I think it's going to take too much, not too much time, but it's going to take time for them to gel. Like, I don't really, I'm not on the Philly train. I ain't got time. I ain't got that much time. Y'all on the Philly train? I am. Yeah. Yeah. They got too much that they can figure it out. It's too much talent when they figure it out. Too many good basketball minds over there, bro. Am I expecting them to be a top two seed? Nah, three or four problems. Have we seen as many basketball moms in the same room work before? Brooklyn was good, but they weren't good until James Harden became a point guard. Brooklyn's good. Yeah. Brooklyn, not them, though. I just think. Does this team have more talent than Brooklyn? No, Brooklyn was better than them. They got more talent than Brooklyn? No, they all were in their prime in Brooklyn. KD was in his prime. Kyrie was in his prime. James was in his prime. Then they had all them. Tyrese Maxey, Jalen Brown. Joel Embiid, give me that. With Bron, give me that, bro. Would you say Joel Embiid still in his prom? Yeah. Nah. Okay. Obviously, we know LeBron did something to tell in his career, but still. Joel Embiid just hurt, bro. I think Bron in your locker room, you're going to listen. Yeah, for sure. Especially if he ain't trying to be the guy. Absolutely, Lou. But the expectations that come with Bron. Like, when shit get tough and they go on a five-game losing streak, It ain't like when Bron was in Miami and they started off losing and he could flip the switch and take over the team. I think they all play hard too. They do play hard. JB play hard. Play super hard. Maxie play hard. BJ play hard. Yeah. Bron play hard. I think that'll rub off on the rest of the team. If they healthy, cuz, it's over. Have they ever played where they got to move the ball in a certain light? Golden State had a brand of basketball where it was like they shared the ball And their shooting was so elite that dribbling and ISO basketball was just taken out They rarely did ISOs. Yeah. So you saying? All these dudes are isolation players. Tyrese Maxey, we can't watch you. Can't watch you. JB, we can't watch you. Can't sit there. Bron, ISO player. I can play pick and roll. Embiid, we can't watch you. Embiid, the ultimate ISO player. That's all he do is ISO. And it's like, at what point do it get stagnant? And it's like, we dealt with this with pipe kind of a little bit. They don't have like knock down shooters. Nah, rhythm shooters. Tyrese Max is probably the best shooter on the team. Yeah. And he a rhythm guy. He shoot off the dribble. Off the dribble threes. He can catch and shoot a little bit, but Jalen Brown can catch and shoot, but Jalen Brown, transition player. I need the- I need the pill. So it's interesting because Golden State was all catch-and-shoot players. Steph catch-and-shoot, KD catch-and-shoot, Clay catch-and-shoot, and Draymond was really the only one that was a creator, really. I mean, all of them can create if they want to, but they all can just catch-and-shoot. So at what point do you feel like Philly need to have they shit together? Probably by, say, January? Because you can coast at the beginning of the season pretty much, especially with them vets, and go at least decent in the East. But by Christmas time, do they need to have their squad all together or everything intact? Yeah, they will. Around Christmas time, they will. They'll be good. I'm just, you know, I think like other teams will gel a little quicker. Like I can see Minnesota gelling quicker than Philly. I don't think they'll have a better record. I think they'll start the season off with a little more chemistry. I think Philly will be a better playoff team. For sure. Regular season team. When the game slow down. Like, it's gonna suck to have Philly be in a four or five matchup and you that number one seed and they gonna beat the number one seed. They'll beat the Knicks or whoever that number one seed is. Yeah, you'll definitely go home for sure.
