🇺🇸 CRAZIEST - COVID COMMUNIST WOKE BAR - DRAMA This bomb was dropped by the woke bar: “It is with love we inform our immunocompromised disabled divas we will be opening Saturday nights with (COVID) masks optional” ⏮️ But let’s start from the beginning, it’s too hilarious: Last year the Last Ditch bar opened for “dykes, transsexuals, gender freaks, workers, and their friends” with a communist business a model. Also everyone had to wear N95 masks or better at all times! 💸 Payment in the bar was optional. 🤣 People only had to pay if they could afford it! No one would be turned away from the space for lack of funds. “Poor and unhoused people are welcome in the space” was the mantra. This obviously went badly! Many visitors said they didn’t have the cover fee, the bar let them in anyway. The owners fell behind on bills and couldn’t pay themselves or the people who worked there. 🤡 -> In the first dramatic event one of the founders left and enrolled into a clown college. Now to attract more people the bar tied to relax its covid mask rule, so that masks were optimal during ONE evening of the week. It’s September 2026 and the city has not reported a single covid case for months. 📝 The announcement itself is a woke masterpiece: “It is with love we inform our immunocompromised disabled divas we will be opening Saturday nights as mask optional to try out typical club nights with themes/hosts/DJs/full capacity. Accessibility is a pillar of our mission, AND our mission is also to make the space work for everyone and everything radical, sometimes that's being wild! We strive for solidarity, transparency of risks, and connecting us all in this revolution. We still give priority to public and private Masked bookings, and continue a recurring monthly Masked Social prioritizing safety. It is only after an outpour of feedback from our regulars, volunteers, and team that we make this addition.” 🤬 -> This caused a shitstorm: - I hope your venue gets firebombed for robbing my fellow immunocompromised people of their Saturday plans just to scrape extra revenue from ablists - Just say you’re being complicit in a mass disabling event and get it over with - people like you kill disabled people in the name of your own leisure and convenience 😢 The Last Ditch bar apologized: “We are sorry for our passive and dismissive tone of our change to the norms and schedule impacting the most intersectional of us. We understand everyone faces different intersections and we are always working to consider all needs fully.” 🤪 This apology made things worse, because the bar did not provide an alt-text for the visually impaired! “This is not an accessible post. It indicates the lack of care or interest in Disability intersectionality.” -> Man living in the woke inclusive world is extremely complicated. lol.
