Kyle Sonlin calls the idea of financial privacy in today's system a flawed mindset. He points out that using credit cards, Apple Pay, or phones means pinging Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and cell towers constantly. Your home Wi-Fi tracks location, new vehicles track their movement, and the U.S. is covered in flock cameras and CCTV on every corner. He clarifies he values privacy too but notes consumers repeatedly vote for free products by sacrificing it. That explains why a 60-inch TV at Costco costs $450 instead of the $10,000 from back in the day. Modern TVs capture viewing habits to sell data to advertisers rather than just relying on tech innovation. Everything in your life watches you, spies on you, and sells your data while everyone stays okay with it.

Privacy is the craziest thing I've ever heard. Anybody that spends on their credit card or uses Apple Pay or anybody that walks around with a phone, you're pinging every Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cell tower. Your Wi-Fi in your own home is tracking where you are. Everything that you spend, your cars are now, every new car now tracks where it's going. The idea that anybody in the U.S. flock cameras and CCTVs on every corner. If you really think that you have any element of financial privacy within the current system, it's a flawed mindset. And I'm not saying that I'm pro full transparency. I like my privacy just as much as anybody does. But to pretend that the current system is protecting you at all is, I think, a flawed mindset. And unfortunately for most people, Even though it a sexy topic to talk about the consumer time and time and time and time again has voted with their wallet and said I will take something for free in exchange for my privacy It never been something that anybody wants to pay for It just never been something that anyone wants to pay for. And so anybody that tries to act like it's this, it's this theme or this ideology or this philosophy that matters to them. They aren't voting with their wallet. Like why are TVs so cheap today? TVs, if you go to Costco right now and buy a 60 inch TV, it's probably like $450. Why do you think that is in the age of inflation, in the age of when TVs used to cost $10,000 back in the day. One part of it, obviously, is technological innovation. The other side of it is that every TV these days is capturing everything that you're watching at all times and giving that to the TV company, and they're selling that to advertisers. Everything in your entire life is watching you and spying on you and selling your data, and everybody's okay with it. So pretending that now all of a sudden we're on this high horse. I just think like, you know, like either live it or don't live it.
