The International Boxing Association's Umar Kremlev is on Ukraine's sanctions list from 2023. The expenses he reportedly picked up ran into the hundreds of thousands: a private island, fireworks, planning. At the event he brought a Russian-speaking entourage that mostly kept to itself, which left other guests scratching their heads. His office describes the pair as having a "friendly relationship" while stressing they do NOT discuss politics.
