Before A KNIGHT'S TALE played in theaters in May 2001, audiences got a Spider-Man teaser that never actually made it into the 2002 film. The footage was shot just for that campaign, and it showed him snagging a helicopter packed with bank robbers using a web strung between the Twin Towers. After 9/11, Sony withdrew both the teaser and a poster that had the towers mirrored in Spider-Man's eyes. It's a strange, singular chapter in how movies get sold.
