Andrew Garfield just admitted he stopped using ChatGPT immediately after portraying Sam Altman in the film Artificial. He says it mirrors exactly what happened when he did The Social Network, which was that he got off Facebook right away. He explains that the more you learn about these tools, the more you realize we're careening into very unknown territory, so he couldn't really explain why beyond that realization. What is good and transparent though is how developers admit they kind of don't know who's going to lose their jobs or how to create an economy that works for ordinary people, yet they promise you it's going to be awesome once they figure it out. Jimmy Kimmel listened while Andrew talked through this sudden shift in his own digital habits.
