When Spider-Man and Kraven were fighting at the airport, Kraven injected Spider-Man with a toxin that would render him unconscious. When it did, he immediately went for the kill, but the symbiote took control of Peter's body and sent Kraven flying. Out of desperation, Kraven grabbed a flight attendant and threatened to kill her if Spider-Man didn't surrender, not knowing that it was the symbiote in control and it didn't care about human life. Before he could beat the hunt out of Kraven, things suddenly changed as he found himself in a different reality where Kraven was a hero. He left to get some answers, but the airport didn't have any buildings for him to swing on, So he took a spider mobile he found outside that belonged to the Spider-Man of this reality. While he was driving, he saw Black Cat on a rooftop and decided to ask her, only for him to discover that Natasha was Black Cat in this reality. She called Peter by his real name and went further to kiss him, revealing that they were lovers. He then decided to get answers somewhere else, but they already towed away his spider mobile. So he swung to the Sanctum Sanctorum and met Wong, who told him that he doesn't know who Doctor Strange is. He also told him that the Sorcerer Supreme wasn't around, but his acolyte was available. His spider senses immediately began to tingle as Spidey discovered that Hobgoblin was the Sorcerer Supreme's acolyte. They fought across the city as Spidey tried to escape. When Hobgoblin finally caught him and wanted to end his life, his spider mobile came to the rescue. Hobgoblin then used his magical powers to shrink the spider mobile but that bought Spidey enough time to escape into an alley Hobgoblin searched thoroughly but couldn find him When he left Dr Strange revealed himself as he had used a spell to make Spidey invisible Spidey took him to a restaurant where they had lunch because Dr. Strange was starving. As they were eating, Dr. Strange revealed that someone snuck into his sanctum and stole a book called The Word of God. They used the book's power to rewrite reality and chased Dr. Strange out of his sanctum into an altered world where he wasn't the Sorcerer Supreme. They discussed about how they were going to turn things around. Doctor Strange then told Peter that he would teach him magic so they could fight their enemy fire with fire. Before they begun, Spidey bailed to go check on Aunt May first. When he got there, he was shocked to see Uncle Ben as he was still alive in this reality. He gave him a hug that almost cracked his ribs. They all sat down and had tea as Peter decided not to change things back because of Uncle Ben. He saw how happy Aunt May was and didn't want to take that away from her. Suddenly, Hobgoblin attacked as he had tracked Spider-Man to his home. Uncle Ben told him that Spider-Man wasn't living here, but he became dumbfounded after he saw Peter take on the symbiote suit. He immediately called 911 as Spider-Man and Hobgoblin were fighting. During the battle, Spidey restrained Hobgoblin, causing him to destroy their house and escape. Uncle Ben survived, but Aunt May died in the explosion. He blamed Peter for her death, causing the cops to want to arrest him. However, Natasha came to the rescue and provided a window for Spider-Man to escape. He then swung back to Doctor Strange and told him to teach him everything about magic.
