It's been 11 years since the release of Terminator Genisys. Paramount was so confident in the film that they gave the green light to two sequels before it even came out, largely because the franchise rights were scheduled to revert to James Cameron in 2019. But the movie underperformed at the box office, leading to the cancellation of both planned sequels. In the end, Cameron got the rights back anyway. #JamesCameron
