A quick Southern Colorado wildfire update on June 30th at just about 4.30 p.m. Compared to June 29th at 10.11 p.m. where we saw 23,000 acres, we are now at just about 28,000 acres for the Aspen Acres fire. So a 5,000 acre growth there. We have been windy, dry all day. We have red flag warnings that are active until 10 p.m. tonight. Another round of those red flag warnings for Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. But very similar conditions to last night ahead for us. Winds will give us a little bit of a break overnight to hopefully have our firefighters get a little bit more of a handle on this fire. But one thing I also want to note, which is very unfortunate, we will see the chance for maybe some dry thunderstorms closer to the I-25 corridor and into our mountains. So some dry lightning could most definitely be possible to fire off maybe some, unfortunately, more fires for us. Also, the way that our winds are shaping up for this afternoon and evening, bringing in tons of haze for the front range and close to the I-25 corridor. So we're going to continue to see air quality deteriorate for Pueblo, Pueblo County, and even up here in Colorado Springs where many of us are. We're seeing that air quality in real time deteriorate as our winds stay elevated throughout at least the early evening hours tonight. We saw that just happen outside as I'm looking out the window here in just the last 20 minutes. So we'll continue to track the situation closely, let you know on any containment and how our acreage is doing in terms of how much we're burning, unfortunately.
