Wildwood box office surge

Positive WOM keeps pushing LaikaStudios’s PG-13 artsy animation Wildwood at US BoxOffice! Distributed by Fathom, it EXPLODED on BIGGEST TUE Discount Day ever for Laika, grossing 2M, up strong +44.9% from MON (vs MissingLink’s 577k, +45.5%, Coraline’s 779k, -27,8%, TheBoxTrolls’s 863k, +17.7%, KuboAndTheTwoStrings’ 1.5M, +40.9%, ParaNorman’s 1.7M, +20%). It hits a 15.7M cume in the U.S. in 5 days The hope is that strong WOM & awards season keep the original animation alive both in the U.S. & overseas to, along with revenue generated from international distribution rights’ sales. recoup at least part of its pricey 100M production price tag not including marketing.
