Nobody Wants This grew out of Erin Foster's own conversion to Judaism, and she's said the aim is positive representation of Jewish people. So the "love letter to Judaism" framing isn't going anywhere, even with a political split inside the show. Adam Brody, her star on the Netflix series, called Israel's war on Gaza a genocide and backed Palestinian freedom in a GQ interview. Foster's reply doesn't dodge it: she disagrees with his views, while allowing that people can disagree, and puts it as "While I love Adam, I also disagree with him, and that's OK."
