Diego Maradona on his father: poor, working morning until night at heavy and difficult jobs, then coming home and telling the family he'd been out for a walk, all so he could hand over toys. Every month the man made sure his son had whatever he needed to play soccer. And when his father got old, Maradona looked after him more than his own children, wanting him to forget those hard days. Calling anyone else his role model, in his words, would be disrespectful. His father was the only one who gave him the ball and pushed him to play it.
