Zach Cregger on THE FLOOD

Zach Cregger says the fear is the point. His sci-fi thriller THE FLOOD, with Jennifer Lawrence starring, is the one he calls his most human story and also his weirdest movie. Scary, yes, but structurally bizarre in a way that breaks from what Weapons and Barbarian did, and that newness is what has him the most excited. Plenty of technical challenges sit inside it that he has no idea how he'll pull off, and he's eager to try anyway. The ending? His favorite thing in the whole thing. On the nerves side, Cregger figures you always want to push yourself instead of making something you know you'll nail, so being nervous tracks. Feeling a little intimidated by it, in his words, is a healthy thing. ashotmagazine.com/zach-cregger-wants-to-be-intimidated-by-hi…
