Phoebe Cates 1980s

There's a specific kind of charm that doesn't need to announce itself, and Phoebe Cates had it. Fast Times at Ridgemont High and Gremlins both put her screen presence on display, but what kept people watching was how naturally it came across. Decades on, the 1980s still get remembered as a stretch when Hollywood built stars with staying power, and honestly her name is one of the first that comes to mind from that stretch. That era had a hold on people that's hard to explain to anyone who wasn't there for it.
