Project Leif Erikson Norway Canada cable

The US is getting bypassed entirely. A Norwegian firm just unveiled Project Leif Erikson, a $620 million initiative to lay a 2,800 mile internet cable straight from Norway to Canada. They are routing the connection from Europe to Canada specifically because they have low trust in the United States and want to avoid its infrastructure. The proposed route runs from Happy Valley-Goose Bay in Canada to Dublin, Ireland via Iceland and Scotland, completely sidestepping existing US systems.
