Hollywood beauty standards and body type

Who signed off on the idea that a smaller waist equals more beauty? That question keeps nagging at me, because Hollywood has spent years selling thinness as the main entry fee for being seen as beautiful. Praise piles up on women with flatter stomachs and sharper features, and the whole thing starts to look like beauty got squeezed down to one body type and nothing else. Here's what bugs me: nobody with a title or a studio logo has the authority to tell every woman she should be chasing skinny. Nobody handed any industry that power. Different shapes, different sizes, different bodies, all of it beautiful, and that should be the end of the conversation. A single corner of the business getting to write the definition of what makes a woman beautiful? That never makes sense to me, fr.
