TRUE DETECTIVE Season 5 casting

Issa López is coming back to run TRUE DETECTIVE Season 5 after handling NIGHT COUNTRY, which previously had Jodie Foster and Kali Reis. The new season lands in Jamaica Bay, New York instead of the Alaskan landscape from before. Nicolas Cage steps in as Henry Logan while Antonio Banderas takes on Rai García. Filming for this setup starts in 2027. It makes sense that both actors are here since they have a history of playing unpredictable and morally complex roles. This pairing feels like an intriguing combination given their acting histories. The location shift offers a distinct backdrop compared to the previous season's isolated setting.
