The way Rockstar Games reworked the hangout system in GTA 6 feels like a total shift rather than just an update. You aren't stuck doing a single task and then immediately sending your partner home. The depth here comes from letting players choose how to spend their time instead of forcing a quick exit. Jason can text Lucia to arrange a meeting, and once they meet up they can walk in a park while holding hands. They might discuss stories similar to those found in Red Dead Redemption 2 camp scenarios without any pressure to move on. Players can visit a gym with both characters performing separate workouts before the duo robs a store together. Even during a police chase the characters can flirt and banter simultaneously while running for their lives.
