David Chris Maland Memorial Highway

Vermont has put David Chris Maland's name on a stretch of highway. He was a border patrol agent, and the killing authorities have tied to "TRANSTIFA" is the reason the memorial exists. Teresa Youngblut is the one accused of shooting him at a traffic stop, per the account. She's identified as part of the Zizians, and she has entered a not guilty plea while facing a possible death sentence. As for the Zizians, they're described as a fringe, cultlike outfit whose trail of connections runs to six deaths spread over three states. Jack "Ziz" LaSota sits at the center of that picture, a transgender woman whose backing of radical positions touches AI, gender identity, veganism, and rationalism. Reporting from AP, PBS, and WCAX3. Marie wrote it up.
