Ronaldo and Ronaldinho name history

It is wild that Ronaldinho and Ronaldo were initially swapped, with each player assigned the other's name at the very start. R9 kept the moniker Ronaldo while R10 settled on Ronaldinho, yet there was a specific stretch where both of them were called Ronaldinho. This mix-up even inspired a track by Bel Marques called 'Cabelo raspadinho, estilo Ronaldinho' which actually pointed to R9. To sort out the confusion, Galvão Bueno pushed the nickname 'Ronaldinho Gaúcho' so people could tell the two apart. Eventually, Ronaldo went back to being just Ronaldo, but Ronaldinho made his mark across Europe using the nickname he already had. By 2002, everything finally clicked into place with Ronaldo as Ronaldo and Ronaldinho as Ronaldinho. The whole saga highlights how they shared the same jersey despite having different names, leading to the conclusion that both individuals sit among the best Ronaldos in history.
