VERITY box office results

The US BoxOffice landscape keeps ColleenHoover and AnneHathaway at the top, but the financial story centers on AmazonMGM's R-rated erotic thriller VERITY starring DakotaJohnson. This title held the number one spot with $2.4 million in gross revenue, marking a 66.1% drop from the previous day. Other entries included WutheringHeights at $4.7 million down 41.7% due to the PresidentsDay holiday, TheLostCity earning $2.2 million after a 69% decline, and PracticalMagic2 taking in $1.7 million following a 75.3% slide. Over four days, VERITY accumulated $34.4 million in US gross earnings. With a production budget of $40 million that excludes marketing costs, projections suggest the film will recover most of its investment through domestic grosses alone. #DakotaJohnson
