Ronaldo on football generations

Ronaldo draws a sharp line between eras when asked to pick the best generation of footballers, insisting his time was the definitive choice without hesitation. He clarifies that this stance doesn't diminish current stars like Cristiano, Messi, and Neymar, who are undeniably magnificent and deserve full merit. The distinction lies elsewhere: while those three exist today, the rest haven't matched the caliber of players from his peers. Ronaldo points out that past competitions were far deeper, spanning Italy, Spain, and England with a level of intensity not seen before. In his view, talent used to be the dominant force, whereas modern football prioritizes higher physical demands over sheer skill depth. His estimate suggests only three or four players stand out as extraordinary in the current landscape, a stark contrast to the abundance of world-class talent available during his own career.
