Verity C+ CinemaScore

A C+ CinemaScore for VERITY, and that number sits awkwardly for a book adaptation aimed at women. ColleenHoover's novel made it to screens as an R-rated erotic thriller led by AnneHathaway and DakotaJohnson, and audiences came away disappointed. What's odd is the company that grade keeps: MadameWeb and FiftyShadesOfGrey also landed C+, and DakotaJohnson headlined those too. Higher up the scale, Barbie managed an A. An A- went to TheFaultInOurStars, TicketToParadise, TheFallGuy, MissCongeniality, JungleCruise, TheHeat, MagicMike2, WhereTheCrawdadsSing, Dog and ItEndsWithUS. Then the B+ tier: TheLostCity, AnyoneButYou, FiftyShadesFreed, FiftyShadesDarker, NoHardFeelings and HouseOfGucci. A plain B covers MeanGirls, WutheringHeights, RegrettingYou and TheHousemaid, with DontWorryDarling down at B-.
