Gaza families bury 105 recovered after airstrike

Waiting three years to bury someone is its own kind of cruelty. Hundreds of families finally gathered around open ground to lay to rest 105 people recovered from the rubble of an airstrike, and that scene is where the numbers stop working. Gaza's reported death toll has passed 74,000, and the ceasefire that was supposed to hold in 2024 has seen 1,445 more Palestinians killed. As Al Jazeera's Bri frames it, Israel uses peace agreements not to stop the fighting but as cover to keep going without answering for it. Counting the dead was never going to be enough.
