Inworld acquires Ultravox

Inworld has officially acquired Ultravox, a platform for building real-time voice agents. This move combines the reasoning brain of Ultravox with Inworld's voice generation and real-time inference engine infrastructure to create a single speech-to-speech system that understands, reasons, and speaks naturally. The combined system creates a loop of listening, understanding, reasoning, acting, and responding. Ultravox provides capabilities to understand user input and intent, reason through tasks, call tools, manage conversation flow, and handle interruptions. A live upgrade enables built-in Inworld voices on Ultravox to run on Realtime TTS-2. This upgrade includes natural-language control over tone, pace, and emotion. The system supports over 200 languages. The system achieves sub-100ms first-audio latency. Existing Inworld voice users on Ultravox receive this upgrade automatically without code changes or additional cost. Voices from other providers remain unaffected by this change. ultravox_dot_ai brings the brain to the table while Inworld handles the heavy lifting under the hood.
