The heat AJ Styles took for calling the shots on that Burning Hammer finish at WWE Backlash 2024 is wild when you realize he actually pushed for Cody Rhodes to kick out on just one count. He made it clear they needed something big, so he suggested the move happen right then. But there is a distinct difference between his version and what Kenta Kobashi did back in the day. Styles admits he can't pull off the spot as well as Kobashi, which means this was always going to be AJ Styles' Burning Hammer rather than the original legend's version.
