September's second-highest grossing final weekend ever recorded is what pushed the 2026 US BoxOffice distributor race past $7.7 billion, putting current figures 10.2% ahead of 2023 and a massive 20.2% over 2025 at this same point. Year-to-date rankings show Universal leading with $1.46 billion, followed by Sony at $1.31 billion. Disney holds third place with $1.08 billion, while AmazonMGM ranks fourth at $557.3 million and Lionsgate sits fifth with $518.6 million.
