🎬📺The Running Man(1987) 4/5⭐ The Running Man (1987) didn’t just predict reality TV. It predicted the entire internet. A totalitarian media empire turning human suffering into primetime ratings, cheering for death, and calling it “entertainment.” Arnold wasn’t running from hunters. He was running from us. We just replaced the net with algorithms. Still the most accurate dystopia ever put on film. The Running Man is a better social satire than most prestige dramas of the last 15 years. It understood that the real villain isn’t the government. It’s the audience that keeps watching. We’re all still in the stands, just with better snacks and worse attention spans. They made a movie in 1987 about a society that turns poverty and violence into a game show for the rich to bet on… and we still act surprised when modern media does the exact same thing with a smile. Ben Richards wasn’t the criminal. The network was. And the crowd was complicit. The Running Man is still screaming this at us and most people are too busy scrolling to hear it. ⭐Synopsis: Arnold Schwarzenegger gets framed for a massacre he didn't commit, gets thrown into a televised death-match game show hosted by an evil TV executive, brutally executes a series of themed gladiators with their own weapons, steals the broadcast feed to clear his name, and tops it off by launching the villain down a rocket sled track into a billboard. It's 100 minutes of pure, unadulterated 80s action perfection that never lets its foot off the gas.
