Japan produced 2 metric tonnes of germanium in 2023. The United States produced 2 metric tonnes of germanium in 2023. Global reported germanium production in 2023 totaled 163 metric tonnes. China accounted for approximately 94.48% of the total reported global production. Only four countries were reported as germanium producers by the World Mining Data for 2023.
