Relations between a wrestling company and Paramount+ turned cold the instant the UFC deal landed, even though talks had been happening over a year earlier. Back then, there was no written agreement in place, yet the company remained confident they were going to secure a spot on the service because wrestling programming wasn't part of their lineup at that moment. Those negotiations reached the highest levels with top executives at Paramount+, including one individual who eventually lost their position during the Skydance merger while another person stayed put. Despite having nothing signed as it came down to the wire, the organization believed they would get on board until the UFC deal arrived first.
