In China’s BoxOffice, AvengersEndgameEncore EXPLODED on 2nd day of nationwide pre-sales, ahead of Endgame’s SEP 25 re-release (Previews on SEP 24)! The rerelease hits a $965k pre-sales cume on SAT, for whole SEP 24-27 period (vs Apes $133k, DunePartTwo $183k, Aquaman2 $188k, TheBatman $313k, DeadpoolAndWolverine $435k, JurassicWorldDominion $442K, TransformersRiseoftheBeasts $450K, GodzillaxKongTheNewEmpire’s $470K, CaptainAmericaBraveNewWorld’s $521k 2-day pre-sales cume), with 5 days yet to go. Pre-sales breakdown: $307k SEP 24 THU Previews $573k SEP 25 FRI Rerelease Opening Day $64k SEP 26 SAT $21k SEP 27 SUN Keep in mind that so far “only” 20k screenings are available for pre-sales, so pacing should keep increasing the more screenings are added in the following days. Endgame’s pre-sales basically performing as if it was a brand new release, with only Zootopia2, F9, AvatarTheWayOfWater SpiderManBrandNewDay, GodzillavsKong, FastX, TheOdyssey, Meg2TheTrench & AvatarFireAndAsh having better first 2 days of pre-sales Post-Covid. Still too early to project the size of this little monster, but If not frontloaded (a BIG IF for a CBM), if pacing keeps strong as is throughout pre-sales period, & depending on how many total screenings it gets by Opening Day, it could genuinely dream of 50M+ 3-day opening, what would be an all time record for a reissue in any market.
