Leonardo DiCaprio Wolf of Wall Street

Leonardo DiCaprio once revealed that an agent wanted him to change his name to Lenny Williams when he was just 6 or 7 years old. The reasoning behind the suggestion was straightforward: the original sounded too ethnic and needed to be more American for the industry. They thought my name was a little too ethnic, so they sort of dissected it and said, Hey Leonardo, Lenny. It wasn't just the first name either; his middle name, Wilhelm, was also changed to Williams. My middle name is Wilhelm, so they changed that to Williams. I didn't want it, I didn't want it. Despite the pressure, DiCaprio rejected the name change and kept his birth name, Leonardo Wilhelm DiCaprio. He later explained that his name reflected both sides of his family. My mother is German, my dad's Italian.
