The methodology tracks the percentage of local residents who described their city as beautiful. Cape Town takes the top spot with 86%, followed by Edinburgh at 84% and Sydney at 78%. Chicago lands fourth with 77%, while Lisbon sits at fifth with 74%. Paris and Stockholm tie for sixth and seventh places both scoring 68%. Porto comes in eighth at 67%, Medellín is ninth at 66%, and Riga rounds out the top ten at 65%. San Diego follows at 61%. A five-way tie for ranks twelve through sixteen includes Panama City, Cambridge, Florence, Rio de Janeiro, and Bath all sharing a 60% score.
