Aska Matsumiya has officially announced her role as the composer for Always Lalisa, a feature-length documentary centered on LISA. The film is directed by Sue Kim, who goes by suebacca online. Matsumiya praised the director for capturing a side of lalalalisa_m that remains unseen by many. She described the narrative as moving and inspiring, highlighting the dedication required to pursue one's true passion. This project marks another significant credit for Matsumiya, an Emmy Award winner and Academy member. Her previous scoring work includes Netflix’s Bruised, the Apple TV+ series Home, and The Spiderwick Chronicles on The Roku Channel. Home notably secured an Emmy Award during its run. Matsumiya has also composed for titles screened at the Tribeca Film Festival and Sundance Film Festival. Thomas Bingham assisted with the score and contributed additional music to the production.
